It is the catechumenate: the Church&#8217;s ancient four-stage path by which an adult is prepared, examined, and received. Enrolment is open and the first cohort is being received now. Becoming Catholic as an adult has always meant walking that shape rather than signing something.<\/p>\n    <p class=\"bf-p\">Faith in Bloom keeps it. The stages are named, the gates are real, and none of them are waived to hurry someone along. What has been removed are the additional gates other bodies invented for people like you \u2014 detransition, silence, celibacy in place of your marriage, a promise to be less visible.<\/p>\n    <p class=\"bf-p\">The Church of Bloom is Independent Catholic and is not in communion with Rome; it claims no Roman faculties, jurisdiction, or recognition of its orders. Inquiry<\/h3><p>You write. The Office of the Ordinary reads it and answers, and you talk about what you are actually asking for \u2014 which is frequently not what the first message said. Nothing is entered anywhere at this stage and you can stop without a word.<\/p><span class=\"bf-step-gate\">Answered within two days<\/span><\/div>\n  <div class=\"bf-step\"><h3>II. Catechumenate<\/h3><p>You are enrolled among the catechumens and formation begins: the creed, the sacraments, the moral life, and the tradition&#8217;s own history with people the Church has excluded. It runs at the pace of a working adult, and it is a conversation rather than a curriculum handed down.<\/p><span class=\"bf-step-gate\">Required \u2014 not waivable<\/span><\/div>\n  <div class=\"bf-step\"><h3>III. Election<\/h3><p>The stage where the Church says yes rather than you. Fitness is discerned by the Ordinary, the name to be entered in the register is settled in advance, and the date of initiation is set. Nothing about your gender, your marriage, or your history is a bar.<\/p><span class=\"bf-step-gate\">Discerned by the Ordinary<\/span><\/div>\n  <div class=\"bf-step\"><h3>IV. Initiation<\/h3><p>Baptism if you have never been baptized, confirmation, and first communion, celebrated from the 1952 <em>Rituale Romanum<\/em>. A valid prior baptism is never repeated.
