Impact · Bloom Swap

What has happened so far. Counted, not estimated.

Every figure on this page is computed from Bloom Swap’s inventory ledger and swap records at the moment you read it. A figure with no records yet says so, in words, rather than showing a zero or a guess.

The figures

Bloom Swap impact, from the ledger.

Five figures, each computed when this page is read. Nothing here is typed by hand.

Counted from the program’s own records on 13 October 2026. A figure with no records says so.

Swaps held counts swaps whose record has been marked held after the day. Host venues counts hosts who have signed. Pieces circulated counts every piece recorded as going out to a swap. Pieces to drives counts every piece recorded as going out to a clothing drive. Partners active counts partners whose agreement is signed and current.

The ledger

How a figure gets here.

Every number on this page is a sum of dated rows. Where there are no rows, there is no number.

Bloom Swap keeps an inventory ledger. Every movement of clothing is a dated row: an intake from a donor, a host or a drive; pieces out to a swap; pieces out to a clothing drive; pieces sent for recycling because they cannot be worn; pieces discarded. Each row records the category and the count, and the figures above are sums of those rows.

Swap records work the same way. A swap is planned, then announced once it has a date and a venue, then marked held after the day, or cancelled. Only a held swap is counted, and only an announced swap ever appears on the public board.

When there are no rows, a figure prints “not yet counted”. That is not modesty; it is the rule. Where a swap happened before records were kept, it is told in words on the About page, and it is not given a number here.

The record

Swaps held, one by one.

Every held swap, newest first: the venue, the city and the date.

A venue is named only when its host has agreed to be listed. A swap joins this record after the day, from the same record that announced it, and a count of pieces appears beside it only where the ledger holds one.

What partners and hosts receive

The quarterly impact note.

The same rows that produce this page produce every note Bloom Swap sends.

Each quarter, partners at the top tiers receive an impact note: swaps held in the quarter, pieces circulated across the network, pieces sent on to drives, any swap the partner itself hosted, and for a Founding Partner, the Safe Passage Grant line. Every partner receives an annual summary.

The numbers in a note cannot be edited by hand. The Chancery writes the words around them, but the figures are computed from the ledger when the note is generated, so a partner reads the same numbers anyone would find on this page.

Hosts receive an impact note too, within 30 days of their swap. The host playbook shows where it falls in the calendar.

FAQ

Questions about the figures

Still asking? Write to swap@bloomministries.org and a person answers.

Why does a figure say “not yet counted” instead of zero?

Because a zero would be a claim. “Not yet counted” means there are no records behind that figure yet, which is the truth.

Do you count the people who come?

No. Bloom Swap does not record who comes, and there is no intake that identifies anyone. The ledger counts clothing, not people.

Can I see the underlying records?

The figures are the public form of the records. Individual rows stay private, because some record where a donation came from. Journalists with a question about a figure can reach the Chancery through the press page.
