Businesses whose clients are Bloom’s community fund Bloom Swap, and are acknowledged on every banner, host kit and page by name, location and web address, in the form the IRS treats as acknowledgment rather than advertising. Partnership never affects a Bloom Directory score.

The plain answer

What a partner funds, and what a partner receives.

A partnership pays for the unglamorous parts of a free clothing program, and puts the partner’s name where the program’s guests will see it.

A nonprofit sponsorship with Bloom Swap funds racks, hangers and bins, laundering, van rental for delivery and removal, storage and sort space, host kits for congregations, and, at the top tier, one complete relocation a year through the Safe Passage Grant, named for the partner.

In return, a partner is acknowledged by name, location and web address on every Bloom Swap banner and host kit, on this site, and in swap announcements. The exact wording never changes and never praises: what recognition is, and is not shows the line and explains why it is written that way.

What partnership never buys is a Bloom Directory Affirmation or Accessibility score. Partners are audited on the same rubric and schedule as everyone else, which is what will make the badge worth having when a partner earns it.

A Bloom Directory score. A comparison with anyone else in your field. A price, a discount or an endorsement on any Bloom page, banner or email. Recognition at Bloom is acknowledgment in Bloom’s standard form, and that is precisely what keeps a partner’s payment clean.

Who is liable if someone is hurt at a swap?
Bloom will carry event coverage before the first Bloom-run swap; host venues carry premises coverage for their buildings.
Can a competitor partner too?

Founding Partners and Presenting Sponsors hold category exclusivity for as long as they renew, which means no other business in the same category holds those tiers.

How does the Directory audit a partner?

On the same rubric and schedule as every listing. Auditors are not told who is a partner. Read about the Bloom Directory.

What if we do not renew?

A Founding Partner designation is permanent. The active benefits, such as signage, the grant and the Council seat, end with the term.

Can we sponsor a single swap?

Yes, through a smaller one-time gift. Support Bloom Swap shows what a gift buys, line by line.

Can our staff volunteer?

They are welcome, and it is never required. Volunteer roles are listed here.
