Disability

Chronic illness, pain, benefits systems, and the specific exhaustion of proving your own condition to people who decided in advance.

Who It Is For

Diagnosed, undiagnosed, and still fighting for one.

Physical disability, chronic illness, chronic pain, mental illness, neurodivergence, and the large population of people who are clearly unwell and have been told for years that nothing is wrong. You do not need a diagnosis, a benefits determination, or anyone’s agreement that you qualify.

What comes up: pacing and the arithmetic of spending energy, being disbelieved by clinicians, benefits appeals, accommodation fights, grief for a body that changed, and the loneliness of a life that runs on a different schedule than everyone else’s.

Cameras off, lying down, leaving early, and missing three months are all normal here. The group is designed around fluctuating capacity because so are the people in it.

How it runs

Peer-led, free, no enrollment or attendance expectation. Silence is participation. Confidentiality is the first agreement.
