Pastoral Care

No one is trying
to get you back.

Confidential spiritual care for people the church threw out, people who left on their own terms, people deconstructing, and people who are furious. There is no recruitment attached to this.

Why This Is Offered Separately

For a lot of our people, the church was the first institution to fail them.

Before the clinic, before the caseworker, before the state — a congregation. Sometimes with a formal removal, more often with a slow chill that made staying impossible without anyone having to say the words. It leaves a specific wound, and it is one almost nobody offers to address without a condition attached.

The standard options are a church that wants you back on its terms, or nothing. Pastoral care at Bloom is the third option: someone trained to sit with religious injury who has no institutional interest in the outcome.

You can end a conversation more certain you are done than when you started, and that is a completely acceptable result. Nobody here is measured on returns.

People use this for grief, for dying and for accompanying someone who is. For the specific loneliness of holiday seasons in a family that has cut you off. For anger at God that has nowhere to go. For a faith they still have and cannot practice anywhere safely. And frequently just to say the whole thing out loud once to someone who will not flinch.

Request Care

Say as much or as little as you want.

You do not need to explain your beliefs, your history with religion, or why you are asking. A first name or no name is fine.

Confidential

What you say stays between you and the pastor. It does not enter a case file, appear in any organizational record, or get referenced anywhere. Ask for it to be deleted afterward and it will be.

If you want the practice too

Faith in Bloom offers daily liturgy, a morning word, and scripture that has been used against you answered with real rigor. Entirely optional, and separate from this.

One Boundary

Pastoral care is not therapy.

It is spiritual and emotional accompaniment, not clinical mental health treatment, and it is not a substitute for it. If what you are carrying needs a therapist or a psychiatrist, we will say so plainly and help you find one rather than quietly keeping the conversation going. If you are in crisis right now, Crisis Support and the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline both move faster than this does.
