A values page is only worth reading if it names something the organization could plausibly be tempted to abandon. Here is ours, written that way.
Bloom Ministries provides direct material support, spiritual care, and advocacy to trans, disabled, queer, and marginalized people — without conditions, without proof of worthiness, and without requiring anyone to be good at asking.
A world where getting help does not require surviving a process first — and, concretely, a physical place where relocation housing, disability-inclusive care, and meaningful work exist together rather than being scattered across systems that do not speak to each other.
Nobody demonstrates they deserve help before receiving it. There is no worthiness test, no sobriety requirement, no proof-of-effort standard.
Where we must choose between rigor and getting there in time, we choose time and accept the risk that comes with it. A system that never gets defrauded is a system that also never helps anyone quickly.
Trans-led and disabled-led at the leadership level, permanently. Not as representation, but because it changes what gets built and what friction gets noticed.
The books are open before the ask, including in the years the numbers are awkward.
Faith in Bloom is real and it is entirely optional. No service anywhere in this organization carries a spiritual condition.
We do not publish anyone’s story or image to raise money. Not anonymized, not with permission obtained during a crisis.
Values only mean something at the point they cost you. These are the specific lines where we would decline funding rather than comply:
Naming these publicly is deliberate. It makes them costly to quietly abandon later, which is the only enforcement mechanism a values statement actually has.
If you ever see Bloom violate one of these, say so directly. That is not an invitation we extend as a formality.
