When you contact us or request support: whatever you choose to tell us. Name is optional in our crisis intake — a first name, a chosen name, or nothing is fine. We also record the contact method you specify as safe, and any methods you tell us are unsafe.
When you subscribe: your email address, and your name if you provide it. Handled through FluentCRM on our own server rather than a third-party marketing platform.
When you donate: your name, email, billing address, and donation details. Payment card information is processed by Stripe and never reaches or is stored on our servers. We see that a payment succeeded and for how much; we do not see your card number.
When you browse: standard web analytics through Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, approximate region, device type, and referral source, in aggregate. This is used to understand which pages help people and which are failing them.
If you reach out through Crisis Support, that contact is not shared with other organizations, not referenced in any public material, and not used in fundraising in any form — including anonymized or with details altered. We will not contact family members, employers, or anyone else on your behalf without your explicit request.
We do not make third-party welfare reports as routine practice. In an extraordinary circumstance where we believed someone faced immediate mortal danger, we would attempt to discuss it with the person first wherever humanly possible.
If you want the record of your contact deleted after we respond, say so and we will delete it.
Only service providers we need to operate: Stripe for payment processing, Google Analytics for aggregate site analytics, and our email delivery provider for sending mail you have asked to receive. Each has its own privacy policy. We do not share data with anyone else, and we have never received a legal demand for user data. If that ever changes, we will disclose it to the extent the law permits.
Regardless of where you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and unsubscribe from anything at any time. Email or use the contact form. We do not require you to prove a legal basis for the request — asking is enough.
Donation records are retained as long as tax and charitable-reporting law requires. Subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Crisis and support contacts are kept only as long as needed to help you, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Young people in crisis should contact The Trevor Project at 1-866-488-7386, which is resourced for exactly that and staffed around the clock.
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and we will note it to subscribers. Questions go to the contact form and reach a person.
Bloom Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 39-4922713, Salem, Oregon. This policy describes our actual practices. If something here does not match your experience with us, tell us — that is a problem we want to know about.
47 people were helped before we asked for a dollar. Monthly giving is what lets us say yes before the money is in hand.
