A Morning Prayer for the Ones Rebuilding
Holy One who was never the voice that harmed us —
meet us in the words we can still say,
and be patient with the ones we cannot.
God of the true name and the mended morning: some of us pray today in fragments, because fragments are what survived. Receive the fragments as whole. Where old words were made into weapons, give us new ones, or give us silence that you treat as speech. Bless the bodies rising into this day — the aching ones, the transitioning ones, the tired-of-explaining ones — and let each know, before noon, one unambiguous kindness.
For the ones deciding today whether to stay — in a faith, a town, a life — grant the counsel that is actually theirs, and the safety to follow it. For the ones who left harmful rooms: confirm that leaving was faithful. And for all of us: the daily bread, the daring hope, the stubborn conviction that we were made on purpose.
A Line to Carry
Fragments, received as whole.
The Holding
Go gently. Pray badly if badly is what you have — it counts entire. You are held, unedited, all day. Amen.
